October 2019, what a month!

This month was quite an exciting one for me. With a new job, re-launch of my personal brand website, aikido achievements, and more!

New job

Around mid September I was terminated from my job quite abruptly – because they were running out of website work to do. Thankfully, I was already considering a move, and put out some feelers to people I knew.

Luck was on my side though! A digital agency I was familiar with (and within 20 minutes of where I live) had an opening. I’m happy to report my employment is going well with them.

New personal brand website

Despite being all nice and secure in a new job, I feel it important to continue having an online presence and portfolio for myself. In the digital marketing industry, you just can’t predict where things will go or how long your “permanent” employment will last.

Hey, Louise is a blog providing helpful tips and information for business owners. It’s also a place for me to showcase my website development, SEO, and other digital marketing work.

My intention is to keep building on this website and folio to ensure that I’ve always got something to show.

Aikido achievement unlocked!

After 6 months of training, I now have a formal rank in my dojo (8th kyu).

I only just received my certificate and belt the other week, even though I took the test a couple of months ago. You see, I took a break from aikido due to health concerns, and in the same period the school moved locations – so my belt and certificate got lost! Ack. So glad I have them now.

Tea With Louise, video channel

I’ve created a new segment of this website called Tea With Louise. It will be a place for me to share video reviews and some slice of life.

I will be taking requests for videos. So if you’d like to hear more about my gender identity, aikido, or games I’ve played – just let me know!

How was your October?
