This post covers questions 6-10.
This week’s questions include:
- What real life geek inspires you?
- What fandom do you love that you didn’t think you would?
- What geeky hobby do you have?
- Favorite anime (or anime series)?
- Favorite movie (or movie series)?
Q6 – What real life geek inspires you?
Wil Wheaton is my real life geek inspiration. I follow his blog and applaud him for speaking out about mental health. Show biz is not easy.
Q7 – What fandom do you love that you didn’t think you would?
When I first heard of Doctor Who, my initial impression was that it seemed like a show for kids. (And I guess the earlier Doctor Who was.) But when the show rebooted in 2005 I started loving it a lot.
These days, I don’t watch it religiously as I used to, but overall I think it’s quite good!
Q8 – What geeky hobby do you have?
I think a better question is what geeky hobby do I NOT have?
Though I think it’s worth mentioning I spend a lot of my free time playing Minecraft. If I had unlimited amounts of free time, I would probably have my own online server and document all the things I do.
Q9 – Favorite anime (or anime series)?
A very unpopular opinion: My favourite anime is specifically Season 3 of Digimon, aka. Digimon Tamers!
It was just very well written for its time, and had me hooked throughout the whole season. It definitely had more soul than the other seasons of Digimon.
Q10 – Favorite movie (or movie series)?
I will never not love the current Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). I’ve seen them all except for Ant-Man & Wasp and (for reasons unknown to me) the Spider-Man live action films.
I know people don’t own DVDs these days, but I have gone as far as owning copies of a few of my favourites – Namely, the Avengers series, and the first Iron Man.
So that’s part two done. You can learn more about the 30 Day Geek Out Challenge over at Megan’s blog.
